Speed Dating for Small Business Loans "It's like speed dating for small business loans," is how Dottie Overal, SBA Oklahoma District Director describes a new event bringing small businesses and lenders together. "The Oklahoma Small Business Lending Fair gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet several financial institutions in one location to find the right 'partner' for their business." SBA is partnering with SCORE to offer small businesses a chance to meet face-to-face with Oklahoma lenders to discuss financing opportunities. The Oklahoma Small Business Lending Fair will be held August 29 from 8:30 am – 1 pm in room D1870 of the Francis-Tuttle Rockwell Campus in Oklahoma City. "Our partners at the Oklahoma City Chapter of SCORE are available to help small businesses prepare for meeting with lenders," Overal said. "Just as with any first date, you want to do your best to make a lasting impression." The Oklahoma City Chapter of SCORE is supplying materials and counseling in advance of the event to prepare participants to ensure high quality, valuable and productive interactions occur. Since 1964, SCORE "Mentors to America's Small Business" has helped more than 9 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through mentoring and business workshops. More than 13,000 volunteer business mentors in over 350 chapters serve their communities through entrepreneur education dedicated to the formation, growth and success of small businesses. Online registration for small businesses is available at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/small-business-borrower-lender-matchmaking-event-tickets-12373117327.
