Florida. Virginia. Utah. Oklahoma.

One by one, state bans on marriage equality are being struck down by judges across the country, as more than 70 cases challenging such bans work their way through the courts. Since the Supreme Court's historic ruling in United States v. Windsor last year, which struck down key portions of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), not a single state marriage ban has survived a federal court challenge. It's only a matter of time before the Supreme Court takes up one of these pending cases to decide once and for all whether states can continue discriminating against committed and loving same-sex couples who wish to marry. Follow the latest news and take a stand in support of marriage equality at HRC's Americans for Marriage Equality page.

Protecting Discrimination is NOT Religious Freedom

Congress has introduced a new bill known as the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act. If passed, this would allow religiously affiliated adoption or foster care agencies to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status or religious affiliation. Tell Congress that protecting discrimination is NOT religious freedom—add your name today.
