Lenders Advantage - July

Tulsa Lending Fair Scheduled

SBA is partnering with SCORE to offer small businesses a chance to meet face-to-face with you to discuss lending needs.  The Oklahoma Small Business Lending Fair in Tulsa is an excellent opportunity to market your services to multiple small businesses at one location.

This event will feature a series of 15 - minute "pitch periods" for each entrepreneur to present their financing needs to a lender one-on-one, before moving to the next lender to present again. Lenders will schedule detailed interviews for a later date with entrepreneurs who may be a match with your bank. Representatives from SCORE will be on hand to help entrepreneurs with business plans, projected financials etc. or schedule follow up appointments.

To ensure that the event's potential borrowers are qualified, SBA will ask each participant to bring the following information to the event:

  • Cover Sheet containing all contact info and business information
  • Detailed Loan Request – providing a breakdown of Use of Proceeds
  • Up-to-Date Business Plan –(3 Years Historical Financial Statements and/or 2 Years of Projections encouraged but not required)
  • Personal Financial Statement (encouraged but not required)
  • Credit Report (not required, but have idea of credit score)
  • List of Available Collateral

Your participation is critical to the success of this event.

The Oklahoma Small Business Lending Fair will be held Sept 18 from 8:30am – 1pm in room 1 of the Training Center, Lemley Campus of Tulsa Tech, 3638 S Memorial Drive, Tulsa.

Prior to the event SCORE will  supply materials and counseling to participants to ensure high quality, valuable and productive interactions.  Addtionally SBA will offer a brief webinar to familiarize lenders with the process prior to the fair.

SCORE is managing the event and will collect $25 from each participating financial institution to cover event costs.

SPACE IS LIMITED to 12 Lenders! For more information and make a reservation contact Cindi Carter, SBA Lender Relations Specialist, at 405/609-8018 by August 29, 2014.

Small business owners, representatives of local economic development organizations, trade groups and community leaders joined U.S. Small Business Administration National Ombudsman Brian Castro to discuss federal regulatory issues impacting American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian small businesses in Durant on Monday, August 11, 2014.

This event, held in conjunction with the American Indian Chamber of Commerce Business Summit, provided local small businesses a chance to voice concerns about unfair regulatory enforcement, excessive fines, retaliation, burdensome regulations and other regulatory issues involving federal agencies.
