Last week, Secretary Jacob J. Lew and Secretary of State John Kerry led a U.S. delegation of senior economic officials to Beijing for the sixth round of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED), which included meetings with China's President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, Vice Premier Wang Yang, and other senior economic officials.  Joined by other senior U.S. officials, Secretary Lew's discussions with his Chinese counterparts  focused on key issues of interest to the United States, as well as China and the global economy – including ways to boost sustainable growth and create jobs through increased trade and investment and by leveling the playing field.

At this year's S&ED, the United States secured important commitments across our economic agenda that will create new opportunities and deliver concrete benefits for U.S. workers and companies, as well as help shape the direction of China's implementation of its reform agenda. Read more about the dozens of outcomes from this year's S&ED on the Economic Track Fact Sheet.

"As the fastest growing major economy, China offers substantial opportunities for U.S. businesses and workers," Secretary Lew said during the closing press conference. "We held discussions on a wide-ranging set of issues, and made a number of commitments that help further create a more open and fair economic relationship."
