Tuesday 08/05/14
If there is enough afternoon sunshine, winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the north and northwest side of the Houston area and on the north and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and "Moderate" levels in the San Antonio, Austin, Waco-Killeen, Tyler-Longview, and El Paso areas, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Continental haze with some Canadian smoke may keep the daily PM2.5 AQI in the low end of the "Moderate" range over most of East, Central, North Central, and Northwest Texas. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower background levels should keep air quality in the "Good" range.

Wednesday 08/06/14
If there is enough afternoon sunshine, winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone to reach "Moderate" levels in the El Paso area, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and decreasing background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.

Thursday 08/07/14 Outlook
Moderate winds and low incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range statewide.

Friday 08/08/14 Outlook
African dust may return to South Texas and could possibly raise the daily PM2.5 AQI into the low end of the "Moderate" range over much of this area. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and low incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range statewide.
